Essential oils as multifunctional tools to mitigate devastating effects of air pollution on human health

Ruta is currently senior research fellow in the Department of Regenerative Medicine at the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine in Vilnius, Lithuania. She obtained her PhD at the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University, Sweden and worked as a post-doctoral associated at the University of Florida. Her work with essential oils began with training in clinical aromatherapy in 2009 and 2010. Since 2015 she has been the president of the Association of Lithuanian Aromatherapists.

Ruta’s skills and interests include the implications of aromatherapy in scientific and medical practices, air pollution mitigation strategies, cell biology methods, disease modeling, biosensors and biomarkers.
